2021 OnRamp Insurance Accelerator April 23-July 16

Each year, the OnRamp Insurance Accelerator, with Allianz Life and Securian Financial, invests in five insurtech startups who participate in a three-month, concierge accelerator program in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Each startup receives a cash investment of $100,000, office space and access to gener8tor’s global network of mentors and investors.

Securian Financial launches Benefit Scout® ChatBot

Utilizing artificial intelligence, the Benefit Scout® ChatBot engages with customers in a meaningful way by creating a conversational flow that is continuously learning based on previous interactions and social norming. Benefit Scout ChatBot is a unified experience that provides information and tools to help employees understand and make decisions about their benefits, leading to increased enrollment and improved participation.

Innovation teams compete using AWS DeepRacer™

In coordination with AWS, Securian hosted an AWS DeepRacer™ event. AWS DeepRacer™ provides a new way to learn more about Reinforcement Learning and Machine Learning models by teaching a 1/18th scale race car how to drive autonomously around a race track.

Industry consortium completes POC for blockchain claims tool

We are a member of The Institutes RiskStream Collaborative™, the risk management and insurance industry’s largest enterprise-level blockchain consortium. RiskStream recently completed a proof of concept of its Mortality Monitor™ application, which would create a decentralized death registry using blockchain to facilitate reliable, secure and traceable exchange of information, with potential to enable faster payment of death claims.
