Inclusion

Inclusion is about bringing our differences together and harnessing them in a constructive and meaningful way to create successful outcomes for our business and culture.

Diversity, equity and inclusion program

Our diversity, equity and inclusion program is an inclusive, merit-based approach to attracting, retaining and developing top talent. We believe that high-performing, diverse teams drive better decision making, better solutions and better business outcomes.

This approach helps us assess our hiring practices, vendor sourcing and community giving to make processes more equitable.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council

Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council leads our efforts to understand, encourage and support our work to attract, develop and retain talent, foster an inclusive culture, meet our customers’ and channel partners' needs and increase community impact.

The Council is led by co-chairs CEO Chris Hilger and Chief Diversity Officer Tariq Malik. It’s a cross-functional group and includes members who represent diverse communities within the company.

Education and conversation

We are committed to fostering learning, dialogue and understanding across our workplace. By investing in education and open conversation, we help employees build awareness, promote equity and inclusion, strengthen allyship and grow cultural competence.

Our Employee Resource Groups

Our approach is open to all employees and includes

  • Learning through Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): Open to all associates, ERGs host book discussions, workshops and other opportunities to explore diverse perspectives and topics.
  • Enterprise-wide events: Our annual Care Campaign brings employees together for meaningful conversations and activities centered on belonging, empathy and inclusion.
  • Continuous learning opportunities: We encourage development through curated courses available on Workday Learning and LinkedIn Learning.
  • Expert-led webinars: In partnership with our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and other providers, we offer webinars focused on wellness, inclusion and respect.
  • Ethics and workplace training: Foundational learning through our Code of Ethics, Respectful Workplaces and related programs helps reinforce a culture of integrity and respect.

Workforce development

We cast a wide net when we look to add people to our team, because we want to find the best talent available.

Recruiting and hiring

Having associates with diverse backgrounds and experiences enhances collaboration, innovation and decision-making — leading to stronger business performance. Our ongoing efforts include:

  • Expanding outreach to underrepresented populations to ensure access and opportunity for all
  • Building relationships through professional organizations, conferences and community events that connect us with diverse talent
  • Developing mid-career pipelines by engaging experienced professionals and preparing them for future management-level opportunities

To promote fairness and consistency throughout the hiring process, we use tools designed to support merit-based decision making, including:

  • Competency-based interview guides that help our talent management team and hiring managers focus on candidates’ skills, experience and behaviors
  • Micro-learning modules for hiring managers to reinforce equitable and consistent interviewing practices
