Suzette is a member of our executive leadership team with responsibility for capital, risk management and actuarial functions, our Reinsurance Center of Excellence, as well as Securian Asset Management.
Experience
Suzette joined Securian in 1997 and has held leadership roles across actuarial, tax and financial management, overseeing areas such as risk management, modeling, financial reporting and core finance functions including FP&A, treasury, tax and procurement. She was named second vice president in 2013, appointed chief actuary and chief risk officer in 2015 and promoted to vice president in 2017. In 2019, Suzette was promoted to senior vice president and named CEO of Canadian Premier Life Insurance Company and Canadian Premier General Insurance Company, where she led the development and execution of the company’s Canadian growth strategy. In 2022, Suzette assumed her role as senior vice president, Institutional Retirement Solutions and president, Securian Asset Management.

Suzette serves on the executive committee and chairs the Finance/Operations committee of the GroundBreak Coalition. She also serves as a board member for the St. Paul Downtown Development Corporation.
