Sid leads our Employee Benefits Solutions Group, which includes managing growth and profitability of group life and voluntary insurance business. In addition, he is chairman of the board for Empyrean Benefits Solutions, one of our independently operated subsidiaries, that complements our broad lineup of innovative solutions for the employee benefits market. Sid is executive sponsor for artificial intelligence, where he is responsible for enterprise-wide strategy, adoption and execution.

Experience

Sid joined Securian Financial in 2010 and has led several of our major strategic initiatives, including managing multiple acquisitions, divestiture transactions and introducing new capabilities (brand, innovation, data) that have enhanced our position as a leading, customer-centric organization. He was promoted to senior vice president in 2017 when he was named the head of our Enterprise Technology area, where he managed all aspects of our technology transformation. Sid was promoted to executive vice president in 2022, when he began leading our employee benefits business. Prior to joining Securian, he held leadership roles at major financial and information services firms and worked for a global consulting organization.

Community

In 2016, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal recognized Sid as a “40 Under 40” honoree for his achievements in the Twin Cities community. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of American Public Media Group and Minnesota Public Radio. Sid is also a former chairman of Visit St. Paul.
