Kristi is responsible for our Human Resources, Securian Business Services, Transformation Office and Enterprise Marketing teams. This includes overseeing our talent and compensation strategies, program management, process improvement, change management, corporate communications and our centralized operational functions which include our Contact Center, underwriting, in force administration and claims areas. Kristi also serves as liaison to the Human Resources and Compensation Committee for our board of directors and has a similar responsibility for several of our subsidiaries.
Kristi joined Securian Financial in 1995 as a customer service representative. Four years later, she joined our Group Insurance area, leading new client implementations and enrollment. Kristi joined our client relationship team in 2005, and after a series of promotions, was named vice president in 2017.
After nearly 20 years in the employee benefits market, she joined our Human Resources team as vice president, talent solutions and became our first Chief Diversity Officer in 2017. A year later, Kristi became our Chief Human Resources Officer. She was promoted to senior vice president in 2020, and to her current position in 2022.

Kristi is on the board of directors for the Minnesota chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults living with mental illness and their families.
