Warren Zaccaro

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Warren leads our finance, risk and actuarial areas which include financial management, business development (including mergers and acquisitions), risk management, corporate actuarial, auditing, tax and treasury, reinsurance and procurement.

As a member of the company’s Strategy and Risk councils, he provides executive leadership for strategic planning and risk management, and he is the executive in charge of Securian Financial’s Audit Committee.

Warren serves on the boards of Minnesota Life Insurance Company, Securian Life Insurance Company, Securian Ventures, Inc. (president), Asset Allocation and Management Company and Allied Solutions, which are all affiliates of Securian Financial Group, Inc.

Experience

Prior to joining Securian Financial in 2005, Warren spent over 24 years in public accounting, primarily at KPMG where he attained partner and served public and privately held domestic and international companies in the insurance and banking industries.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Bentley University, Waltham, Massachusetts

Registrations/Licenses

  • Licensed certified public accountant in Minnesota and Texas

Community

Warren currently serves on the executive council of the Minnesota Historical Society and chairs its Investment Committee. He is a founding U.S. member of the Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) CFO Leadership Network, whose mission is to inspire action by finance leaders toward resilient business models and a sustainable economy. In 2017, the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal recognized Warren as “CFO of the Year” (Large, Private Companies category).
