Securian joins national commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace

ST. PAUL, Minnesota--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Securian Financial Group is among a growing coalition of American employers pledging to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

One month after 175 CEOs came together to launch CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™, nearly 100 additional CEOs — including Christopher M. Hilger, Securian’s chairman, president and CEO — have pledged to commit themselves and the organizations they lead to the effort.

Securian is pledging to take action on cultivating a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcome and respected, and where employees feel encouraged to discuss diversity and inclusion. Coalition organizations have already shared more than 250 best-known actions, exchanging tangible learning opportunities and creating collaborative conversations.

“For Securian, cultivating a workplace of diversity and inclusion really is an easy decision,” said Hilger. “The future of our workplace is diverse, and as we continue to plan for future growth, fostering an inclusive work environment is common sense. It’s part of our values and who we are—and it’s the right thing to do.”
