Securian promotes Brent Lesmeister to Group Insurance national sales vice president
ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Securian Financial Group has promoted Brent Lesmeister to national sales vice president of its Group Insurance division. Lesmeister, who has worked for Securian for 18 years, including 12 years in Group Insurance sales, is responsible for leading the company’s sales of group benefits to large employers.
“Brent has been a key contributor to our rapid growth in the intensely competitive group benefits market,” said Bruce Shay, Securian executive vice president and head of Group Insurance. “Brent’s demonstrated record of sales results makes him a natural fit for this leadership position.”
Lesmeister joined Securian in 1997 right out of St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn., as part of the company’s management development program. He joined the Group Insurance division in 1999 and worked in underwriting before transitioning to sales in 2003. Over the past 12 years, Lesmeister has led Securian’s Group Insurance sales in the southern region of the United States—helping Securian become the nation’s third-largest direct writer of group life insurance.*
