Kristi is responsible for the company’s talent strategies, compensation, benefits, diversity/inclusion and employee engagement initiatives. She also reinforces the importance of a performance-driven, accountable leadership culture throughout the organization.
Kristi builds high-performing teams with an emphasis on collaboration and inclusiveness. In addition, she staffs the Human Resources Committee for Securian Financial’s Board of Directors.
Kristi joined Securian Financial in 1994 as a customer service representative, serving individual annuity holders.
In 1999, she joined Group Insurance, leading new client implementations and enrollment. Kristi joined the client relationship team in 2005, and after a series of promotions was named second vice president.
After nearly 20 years as a leader in the employee benefits market, she joined human resources as the company’s first chief diversity officer in 2017. A year later, Kristi assumed responsibility for all of human resources, and was promoted to vice president in 2019.

Kristi is passionate about serving the Twin Cities community, especially volunteering for her young son’s school and church activities. She is a former board member of the Minnesota Children’s Museum.
