The Corporate Equality Index (CEI) is the nation’s leading benchmarking survey and report that measures corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality.
Securian Financial participated in the CEI for the first time in 2020, earning a score of 85 out of 100. The five-point increase to a score of 90 in 2021 was achieved through adding language to our philanthropic grant giving policy prohibiting support to any non-religious organizations with a written policy of discrimination against LGBTQ+ people.
“It is exciting to see our score increase over last year through our dedication to become a more inclusive company,” says Chris Hoegh, Securian Financial project management consultant, who led the team completing the survey. “Our participation in this survey is important, and our high score is meaningful to our LBGTQ+ employees, our customers and our channel partners.”
