Brokerage accounts

With a Securian Financial brokerage account, your clients can hold and trade an array of securities such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds. Your clients receive a monthly (or quarterly, depending on activity) report of all their investments in one, easy-to-read statement. At tax time, all client holdings are consolidated into a single 1099 form. Historical cost basis information is also available.

Investment options

We will help you grow and manage your investment practice. We offer an extensive preferred list of mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and separately managed accounts through our Investment Resource Group to help meet your due diligence needs.

Our representatives can provide various investment products, including fixed income, ETFs, equities, mutual funds and 529 plans through our selling agreements across a range of recognized mutual fund companies.

We work closely with Pershing, a third-party custodian for your clients' assets. Pershing supports more than 1,400 financial organizations worldwide. It holds client assets and manages, clears, and settles trades.1

Turnkey programs

Through Securian Financial and approved providers, there are several turnkey programs that offer investment management so you have the ability to focus on relationships versus day-to-day client account management. A range of programs offers different levels of sophistication, from new investors to affluent or institutional clients with complex needs.

We also offer exclusive expertise through the Investment Resource Group, a team of highly experienced investment professionals. They manage a proprietary group of model portfolios and conduct due diligence on a vast range of marketplace investments for turnkey programs. This includes rebalancing and portfolio allocation that focuses on long-term results.

Advisor-directed programs

We also offer programs for advisors who prefer to manage their clients' investment accounts, including rebalancing and trading. A range of solutions address complex client needs, including programs for affluent investors and traditional advisor-managed accounts.

Fast and accurate assistance is key to help you serve your clients better. Our trade desk can quickly connect you to consulting services, stock and bond information, quotes and more. Your clients can even contact the trade desk if you’re not available. And our dedicated service center will answer your questions about new accounts, transfers, billing, check requests, distributions and more.

Investment Resource Group

The Investment Resource Group (IRG) is a team of Securian Financial Services investment professionals who follow sound investment practices to construct diversified portfolios that seek to achieve targeted, risk-adjusted returns.

Rigorous due diligence drives the IRG’s processes. They gather and analyze data to create lists of recommended investments in addition to a group of proprietary model portfolios. The IRG continually adjusts course as funds close, styles drift and other developments arise.
