Training and Development Program

Securian's Training and Development Program is designed to help associates succeed in their professional careers. As Coley Bloomfield, former Securian CEO and chairman of the board, once said, "Securian's most valuable assets do not appear in our balance sheets. Ours is a service industry, and service relates to people. Without our people — their ideas, their support, their enthusiasm and dedication — our outstanding record would clearly not have been possible."

No matter what responsibilities associates have at the Company, our Training and Development department offers many courses to refine skills.

The Company's commitment to associate training benefits both Securian and its associates. Associates gain career-enhancing knowledge while the Company benefits from increased performance. For associates who want to pave their career path, Securian provides the resources and support.

Training and Development:

  • improves service to customers – policyholders, field and home office associates;
  • helps associates meet high performance standards by helping increase productivity and quality of results; and
  • keeps associates abreast of technology advancements by familiarizing them with procedures, equipment and resources.
