Securian's in-house training offers individual classes to meet specific needs and groups of classes to develop broad skill-sets for all Securian associates. Course groupings include:

Spotlight Orientation Series
A strong orientation program is an essential component of an associate's success at Securian. The orientation series offers a snapshot look at the Company and an understanding of the "big picture."

As a new associate, you will have the opportunity to participate in the Company's orientation series. The overall objective of the series is to give associates the opportunity to learn more about Securian's history, culture, values, fundamentals, mission, goals and future directions. Armed with this broad perspective you will leave motivated, confident and committed to a career at Securian.

  • Telephone and Voice Mail Training

Supervisory Development Program
One way to improve supervising skills is learning from people who have supervised others. The Supervisory Development Program provides a wide-ranging skill base for a supervisor's developing knowledge.

Associates receive their Basic Supervisory Certification by enrolling and completing certain requirements. To further develop supervisory skills, associates may enroll in additional courses and achieve Supervisory Excellence Certification. Applying the skills developed in these courses improves supervisory skills. Associates also learn more about the Company, including salary administration, performance management and attendance management. In addition, the courses teach vital interpersonal skills such as motivation techniques, effective meeting management as well as interview and selection skills.
